Getting website traffic is one of the biggest challenges to new website
owners. You have a great site that you think people will love, but for
one reason or another, few people ever come, unless you know the
secrets to getting visitors on your site.
This technique is well-known among the leaders who market things
online, and now, you have the very same information. Use this
manual, and you will see your website receive 1,000 visitors or even
more in a few hours, sometimes in just minutes.
How It Works
The concept is really simple. You have a web page made, or create
one. Ideally, you create a new page in the way described below.
To get the maximum visitors, your destination web page should be
interesting to a lot of people, and the best way to do this is to create
content with human interest in it.
By human interest, I mean the stuff that MSN and Yahoo post on
their messenger sites each day – stuff that gets your attention and
makes you click to read it.
I’ll describe how to make human interest content below.
Once you have the page created, the next thing to do is link to it.
There are a few places you can link from that will generate 1,000
visitors quicky, so let me give you the sites, and then describe how
you link so that a lot of people click over to your site.
Where To Link
Once your web page is ready, the very best places you can link to it is
from these sites:

Personally, I like propeller (formerly known as netscape.com). I have
had 2,000 visitors in 65 minutes after adding one “story”.
Impressive, but you need to be ready for them!
All these sites require you to register for free, and then confirm your
email address (just check for a confirmation email and click the link
in the email to activate your account).
For stumble upon, you need to install the toolbar, and then it makes
fast traffic as simple as clicking a button and writing a few sentences
about your site.
Once you have the stumble upon toolbar installed, you simply visit
your web page, and then click on the “thumbs up” icon in the stumble
upon toolbar. A pop-up window will appear, and ask you to pick a
category, a title, a description, and some “tags”. Enter this
information (and remember, tags should be high volume search
terms…if you need to find some, use wordtracker – either the free
trial or the 3 day access (use keyword researcher, and then enter a
single keyword per line, and then click “research” – and look at the
results…use the ones that are relevant and have lots of traffic). Don’t
use Overture…a lot of people recommend it, but it sucks, and using it
will keep you poor. If you can’t afford wordtracker, then use spyfu –
it still has a free option, and might be good enough to do the job.
For digg, reddit, and propeller, you need to add a story or post. Just
login to the site, and look for the new story, new link, new link, or
“add” link, and click it.
Don’t add anything yet – read about making a human interest post
below, and then come back.
Ok, now that you have your title, and your post ready, then you
simply submit it (click “post” or “save”, or whatever button makes
your story active). Be sure to read carefully, because some sites, like
propeller, will show a page of related stories and ask you to submit
only if your story is unique and not already reported.
Once your story is live, others will see it, and it will appear on a page
of “new” stories. That’s why you will get almost instant traffic. It is
also why I recommend you post your stories around 9am Eastern,
since the US is the largest audience for English stories still, and they
are just waking up and going to these sites to see the new stuff of the
day.
Making an Interesting Post
Making a human interest post on digg, reddit or propeller is simple,
once you follow this simple recipe.
A human interest story is one that grabs you and compels you to read
on. Usually, it is interactive, or emotional in nature.
It can be a story that evokes curiosity, controversy, remorse,
compassion, intrigue, envy, rage, a need to contribute, and other
strong emotions. It can be a story of exceptional achievement, or
tragic outcomes.
For instance, a story about a natural disaster is bound to get massive
attention and interest.
If you start your story with something that evokes strong emotion,
people will click through to your web page, and if they are satisfied by
your content, they will rank you and recommend you to friends – and
when that happens, you will get a LOT more than 1,000 visitors.
Advanced Techniques
This is an optional technique that will drive your traffic even higher
using the digg, reddit, propeller and stumbleupon method described
above.
What you do is kick start your “story” by having others go there and
recommend it. You see, all these sites have feedback mechanisms
built in, and when someone says “I like it”, the story gets boosted up
and may appear on high traffic pages like “most popular” and “today’s
hot stories”. Getting on a page like that can boost you up to 10,000
visitors pretty quickly.
So, to get others to vote on your story, here are some ways:
Email the link to your story to any email list you have, and ask them
to vote on it. This is legal – all you are doing is asking for their
opinion.
Join a group that lets you trade votes. This means you vote for
someone’s story (you can refrain from voting if you don’t like their
story, but otherwise they expect you to give a thumbs up to their
story), and then ask them to vote on your story. In a good group, you
can get 5-50 votes in a single day.
Some groups that support this vote trading are
ISS – ISS is run by Mark Hendricks, the 12 Days of Christmas Santa,
and all-around good guy. If you join ISS at the gold level, you get
access to the vote trading system automatically. ISS is well worth the
money, since it is both a mentoring program, wealth training system,
mastermind group, and a place where you can meet others that are
very successful.
